Sending Messages

Sending messages in PumpCord is simple and intuitive. Here's how to do it.

Basic Messaging

Step 1: Type Your Message

1. Click in the message input box at the bottom of the chat

2. Type your message (up to 2000 characters)

3. You'll see a character counter showing how many characters you have left

Step 2: Send

Click the Send button (or press Enter) to send your message.

Tip: Press Shift + Enter to create a new line without sending.

Message Features

Character Limit

• Maximum: 2000 characters per message

• The counter turns red when you're close to the limit

• Messages cannot be empty

Real-Time Delivery

• Messages appear instantly for all users in the room

• You'll see a "sending..." indicator while your message is being posted

Message Types

Regular Messages

Just type and send! Your message will appear with:

• Your username

• Timestamp

• Your message content

Messages with Links

• Links are automatically detected and made clickable

• Always be careful clicking links from unknown users

• Verify URLs before clicking

Editing Messages

Currently, messages cannot be edited after sending. Make sure to review your message before sending!

Note: This feature may be added in the future.

Deleting Messages

• Room Owners/Mods can delete any message in their room

• Regular Users can only delete their own messages

Best Practices

• ✅ Be respectful - Keep conversations civil

• ✅ Stay on topic - Keep discussions relevant to the token/room

• ✅ Use proper grammar - Makes messages easier to read

• ✅ Don't spam - Avoid sending multiple messages in quick succession

• ❌ No harassment - Treat others with respect

• ❌ No scams - Don't promote scams or phishing
